Our habits of consumption and settlement, which are one of the common problems of the whole world, greatly damage our ability to be permanent. Environmental pollution, global warming, disappearing habitats and forms, residential areas that have lost their identity, escalating inequalities and tendency to violence, and the economic, ecological and social consequences of all these reveal the extent of this damage. The biggest step to be taken in order to preserve the ability to be permanent by providing continuity of productivity and diversity without compromising the ability to meet the needs of future generations is the realization of sustainable development.
 
The meeting of the world with the concept of sustainable development is based on the report named "Our Common Future" published in 1987 by the World Environment and Development Commission working within the United Nations. In order to control the aforementioned negative consequences of human activities, sustainable development, which entered the world agenda, has turned into a global implementation plan with the international agreements signed in the 1990s and has supported the countries to consider their economic, social, and ecological goals from a sustainability perspective.
 
The Sustainable Development Goals, in other words the Global Goals developed to initiate this transformation, is a comprehensive call for action that entered into force in January 2016. These 17 Goals are a roadmap that includes goals to eradicate poverty, protect our planet from irreversible damage, and ensure that all people live in peace and prosperity, and support governments to integrate these goals into national development plans and policies. It addresses its root causes and invites all stakeholders to take responsibility in solving these problems.

Education is the most important force against poverty and inequality in terms of representing an entrepreneurial, innovative, open to technological developments, and productive workforce. At the same time, education is the basis for ensuring gender equality, supporting healthy life awareness, preventing violence, and building a culture of tolerance and peaceful, stable, and prosperous societies.
 
By focusing on critical skills for sustainable employment to support the acquisition of the knowledge and skills required to support sustainable development in the areas of human rights, gender equality, peace and nonviolence, world citizenship, cultural diversity, and to develop the knowledge, skills and capacities of individuals and institutions. To increase the number of young people and adults, to provide the knowledge and equipment that may be needed to create a healthy and quality life awareness, to transform every segment of the society into active individuals who are aware of the steps they need to take in line with sustainable development goals, who have the power to transform the society and are ready to take responsibility, aims to support women, the poor, the disabled, immigrants and other groups in their access to inclusive and equitable quality education and by developing cooperation with international and national institutions and organizations. Contributing to the realization of these activities represents the main activity area of ​​the Community Service Coordinator.
